Residential Snow Removal
Barnes, Inc. has made the difficult decision to focus its snow removal resources on our commercial accounts. Our reputation for high quality and reliable service is well known. Last year's heavy volume of snow has lead many commercial entities to switch from their current vendors to a more reliable and dependable snow removal company. Barnes, Inc. has already seen its large commercial portfolio expand by 15% for the upcoming season.
It is important for us to reiterate that Barnes, Inc is first and foremost a COMMERCIAL snow removal company. Over 85% of our work is of the commercial variety. This past winter, we were able to maintain our high standard of service on all our commercial accounts. We have augmented this primary function over the years by providing residential services. Several of our competitors, chose to abandon the residential market last season. As a result, Barnes, Inc. added over 100 new residential customers last year.
We have always tried to accept any and all contracted snow removal work that we could as a way to add to our customer base, and were able to do so this past winter. However, some adjustments are necessary moving forward into this winter and beyond.
The restructuring of our residential snow policy will be based on two cornerstones: 1) our primary focus will continue to be to provide high-quality and timely snow removal services to all our commercial customers and our long-term established residential snow removal customers. 2) Our residential focus will be on providing service to our year-round, full-service customers and our long-term established residential snow removal customers. We will no longer be accepting NEW residential customers. This season our residential snow removal services will be narrowed to include customers for whom we provide both summer and winter services. We will also continue to provide residential services to all snow removal customers that have been with us for three snow removal seasons or more.
We are sorry that we are forced to institute these limitations on our residential services, but unless we make these changes, service to all will suffer. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us directly by phone or e-mail.
